Our world is losing its natural structure day by day. According to research, if we don't find a realistic solution in the next 10 years, our world will become hotter and drier and become an uninhabitable place for future generations. I talk about global warming, which is a common problem for all people who live in this world. The main gases that cause global warming are generally carbon-based gases such as Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Methane (CH4), Diazotoxide (N2O), Ozone (O3), Carbon monoxide (CO) and Halocarbon (CFC). As you know, we have an ozone layer that protects the earth from harmful sunlight and these gases cause the ozone layer to be damaged. When the ozone layer is damaged, our world absorbs more sunlight.

Another side effect of carbon-based gases is that they protect sunlight from the atmosphere. In the solar system, the closest planet to the sun is mercury, while the hottest planet is Venus because gases capture sunlight and cause it to heat up. The surface temperature on Venus is more than 500 ° C. We quickly move towards becoming a warm planet like Venus. Carbon emissions in our world have reached an unimaginable dimension to industrial development. The amount of carbon emitted into nature causes our world to heat up quickly and drought. As long as the trees are not affected by drought, the ratio of CO2 - Carbon Dioxide increases and our world becomes warmer. If we don't find a quick solution in the years to come, our world will soon become a truly dry planet like Venus.

 

What is the purpose of the Carbon Offset Initiative?

The Carbon Offset Initiative is  an environmental and humanitarian project that aims to monitor and reduce carbon emissions using Blockchain technology. By utilizing Blockchain's superior features, it aims to reduce waste carbon emissions and leave a better world for the future by properly managing waste. He believes that the solution to the problem cannot be achieved through the efforts of one organization or community, but through humanitarian monitoring and reduction of waste production.

There are already companies that are working to take action on the amount of carbon emissions, but they cannot be effective because they are inadequate during the follow-up phase. Because the effective structure of the block chain has the ability to follow every step of the process, the project is built on the blockchain. The Carbon Offset Initiative  plans to improve efficiency by monitoring waste collection from different units and locations, monitoring processes and reducing waste more widely by using recycling more effectively.

• What is the Carbon Offset Initiative

Global pollution generated by carbon production and globalization reaches a recurring peak and is a major threat to our future. Efforts are being made by various governments, industrialists or institutions but at too low a level, due to various factors such as short-term or misunderstanding.
The generation of Heads of State or CEOs currently formed in the fossil fuel economy and have difficulty understanding that the green action needed is not expenditure but investment.
Our team sincerely believes that a "green revolution" will have the same impact as an "internet revolution" or "industrial revolution" in terms of innovation and employment and investment opportunities.
Our goal is to solve problems in new ways by combining our experience and network teams with digitalization and blockchain, both of which become powerful resources for implementation and success.
Our research shows that the shipping sector is ideal for carbon minimization potential and that the proper disposal of oil waste is even carbon negative.
COI, an acronym for the Carbon Offset Initiative, strongly reflects our intentions and also the concrete results we are aiming for: Carbon Offsetting by optimizing "bunker-oil fuels to glide into the energy cycle" and managing waste and emissions. This optimization process makes the recovered carbon fuel-oil negative, because unlike crude oil, it does not have to be explored, produced, refined, and transported, thereby significantly reducing the carbon footprint.

• Project Synopsis

Industry, information, consumption, and global economic growth put great pressure on the environment of our planet and sustainable development in the future.
However, one thing that everyone seems to underestimate is that we live on a planet with limited physical resources, and we use it beyond any reason and produce increasing amounts of waste and emissions.
At the same time, legal requirements to track and prove total disposal or destruction of waste that cannot be recycled and to reduce emissions are increasingly stringent and increasingly enforced throughout the world. Growing waste production is a major challenge for traceability and proper disposal.
Scientists, industrialists and countries try to deal with waste and emissions related problems. Despite time pressure, such global problems are handled locally, which is too slow.
CARBON OFFSET INITIATIVE SOLUTIONS
With our extensive experience in waste recycling, we have been very involved in the reality of the water recycling process and oily slop. There are three main problems for companies and shipping owners:

1. Is the recycling work done legally, on time, and of quality for the amount provided?
2. Are the parties involved paid in accordance with the agreement and the minimum payment in cash?
3. Have we paid more (hidden theft)?

Slops   consist of, as follows:

 

• Bilge water: This polluted bilge water contains a mixture of fuel oil, sea water, fresh water, cooling water, oil leaks, and lubricating oil. They contain 10% hydrocarbons.
• Mud: This is produced in the engine room during the maintenance of the fuel used by the ship. It contains 80% hydrocarbons.
• Ballast water is used in older tankers to stabilize ships by changing oil as they navigate without loading. With ballast water extension also includes tank cleaning water. They contain 20% hydrocarbons.

was founded in Nyon, Switzerland with a mission to clean up unwanted waste and save the environment with plug-in modules and technical experience gathered from around the world.

• 2014. - Urban Management DOO (UM)

was founded in Belgrade, Serbia with a vision to confuse industries with technology such as blockchain and software solutions with wide implementation, from marketing, through real estate and hospitality to ecology, and so on.

• 2017. - Sustainable approach

CSS & UM began discussions on sustainability, climate change, and potential partnerships.

• Q1 2018 - CSS waste treatment

CSS is starting new research and development to improve the productivity of existing waste oil treatment modules, while UM is preparing land for new reforestation projects and conducting laboratory research and geo quality and land characteristics.

• Q2 2018 - UM afforestation action

UM has planted 10,000 trees to cut CO2 from the atmosphere and reduce enough air pollution in the Balkan region. CSS starts pollution and regulatory research on the African continent.

• Q3 2018 - COI lahir

Carbon Offset Initiative (COI) when an idea is born. The main mission is to increase global awareness about climate change, the negative effects of pollution, and the problem of global warming.

• Q4 2018– CSS & UM partnership

The official partnership between Clean Sea Services and Urban Management was signed in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The UM technology team is starting to develop a new blockchain platform. CSS develops a new generation of waste oil treatment modules.

• Q1 2019 - Find COI

The initial COI team gathered and began to improve its ongoing mission, creating a framework for white and technical papers and developing short-term and long-term business plans for Europe, EMEA, Africa and Asia.

• Q2 2019 - Research & Development

Version 1 of the technical paper and whitepaper was issued, research and development of hardware and software for the COI waste traceability platform began. Co-initiative.io is updated and the COI token is generated.

• Q3 2019 - COchain blockchain security

COI wallet security is improved, co-initiative.io is connected to the blockchain platform, testing on COI tokens is done and tokens are ready for pre-sale in public. PRE-ICO / IEO starts! Crowdfunding with COI token discounted prices. Partnerships with exchanges, companies and institutions were announced.

• Q4 2019 - Awareness of climate change

Research and development for the COI waste traceability platform in the middle phase. The eco sensor prototype quality and quantity of COI is ready to be tested in bunker tanks and slops. Smart contracts that are linked to COI circulation tokens for verification of various processes between subjects.

• Q3 2020– Application development

Beginning of the development of the COI Application for Android, iOS and Microsoft users with high security protocols and transparent data tracking through blockchain ledgers. GPS and weather satellite monitoring is connected to the COI waste traceability platform and makes it more user friendly.

• Q4 2020 - Finalization

Final development and prototype tests of the quality and quantity of COI sensors, before mass production and implementation in tanks. Improved COI hardware and software to be more compatible in transparent waste management systems that can be tracked in different markets and for different wastes.
