  Investors and VCs are two parties in the investment world who help companies globally to thrive and survive in the market. These parties help the company to grow but can also be a frightening specter for the company because they can easily manipulate the market and bankrupt the company in no time. This kind of thing has happened a lot in the market and it is not surprising because this kind of practice is common and small companies can do nothing about this manipulation. And because of that, many companies today, especially startups, make safe investments from only a few parties to be able to avoid things that are not desirable.

Powered is built on the idea that all publicly traded assets will eventually become crypto tokens, tradable across borders and blockchain platforms. We are developing the infrastructure to enable this change, following in the footsteps of important players in our ecosystem, such as Circle and Paxos.

Several securities tokens and synthetic trackers have appeared in the market, but due to their limitations, they are struggling to establish a solid footing. Currently, most of the available assets are dedicated platforms or lack the trust that consumers have with assets like USDC. Our priority is to overcome these challenges and introduce compatible and interoperable products from day one.

Enter Supported

Backed Finance is a gateway for tokenized shares and equities on the blockchain. It is supported to issue tokens that represent the value of financial assets. For each token minted, Backed purchases the underlying asset (1-to-1) and stores it through a licensed custodian. Qualified token holders can exchange their tokens for the market value of the underlying asset.

We chose to build Ethereum first, the most powerful crypto network today. This will allow our users to maximize the usability of the Backed token across the DeFi ecosystem as well as migrate it to other chains via existing bridges.

Why is Supported launched?

Speaking to Crypto Advisory, Lee Betts-backed Founder summed up the inspiration behind the platform:

CompanyCoin is a security token that represents share ownership in a specific company on the Supported platforms. The company must be one that has successfully raised funds on Backed after meeting its fundraising goals. The digital asset is an ERC-20 token based on Ethereum, which means it has a standard set of features built into the code and can be freely exchanged for other ERC-20 compatible tokens such as BKD.
